Re: Perigee full moon November 14th - Time for a special lunar?

It occurred to me that it might be amusing and instructive just to use my sextant to measure the Moon's apparent diameter and do it again at a later date. Although perigee occurs at 6:22 GMT, for my location the Moon's diameter maxes at around 4:30 GMT when it will be 34.05'. For anyone crossing the Pacific and close to 13°24.9'N 174°36.9'W at 6:22 GMT it'll be 34.13'.

It might also be worthwhile photographing it so you can make one of those perigee to apogee Moon comparisons,

    Robin Stuart
