That's clever. The deep southern sky is barren. It could have explained the image. Turns out... no. But I agree that it was a good idea!

I noticed that, too. The sky at the site is very dark, but there are numerous light sources out beyond the horizon, suggesting small towns or maybe just modern farms with excessive exterior lighting. Also, the apparent horizon is very flat. These are "suggestive" non-astronomical clues. I don't know if they lead anywhere useful in this case.
