Hello, I have a C. Plath Kriegsmarine sextant from December 1940 and the half-minute scale on its drum is very easy to read, with very good accuracy.
I recently refurbished another C. Plath sextant, replacing the one-minute scale drum with another purchased on eBay, which is a replacement for the drum of a U.S. Navy MkIII sextant, with a one-tenth-minute scale vernier, very easy to read and fully compatible with minimal adaptation.
