Hello José Andrés.
I just wanted to say welcome aboard. Thank you for posting your fascinating story about replacing a Plath micrometer with a micrometer from a USN Mk 3 sextant. Those "Mk 3" sextants, as complete instruments, are usually difficult to find and often priced quite high. Did you discover one for sale in "for parts" condition? Or are you saying you found the micrometer as a separate unit on ebay? If so, that sounds like a most fortunate find! Do you have any helpful hints for locating rare sextant components, or do you know any preferred merchants out there who stock such items?

Thanks again,
Frank Reed
