Assuming the diameters of the two micrometer drums are equal, I—as one who has never laid a hand on a manufactured sextant—see the choice as an easy one. Pick the one at the left.
1. The digits and graduation marks are bolder, making use easier under poor lighting conditions.
2. It provides the option to use a vernier with a least count of 0.2’—or to use the index (marked with a black dot) alone, just as would be done with the instrument at the right.
