Your observation about being able to write without setting down the sextant makes perfect sense! As a leftie, it never occurred to me that all those spoiled righties are inconvenienced by the dominant set-up. Nice to think that us lefties get a win from time to time! ;-)
Which makes me wonder how the left-handed set-up ever got to become the dominant option to begin with.
