    Plotting a LOP properly: how to?

    If I do the Intercept Fix - I need to draw an Azimuth line pointing to a given GP, then I must measure a line segment with length equal to the difference between Hc and Ho.

    My question is - which scale to use?

    If the Azimuth is strictly North or South - I may use the scale along the vertical axis, if the Azimuth is East or West - I may use a scale along the horizontal axis, that's all clear.

    But if the Azimuth is neither of those two directions (say, 45°) - I, as I understand it, must adjust my spacer according to the Azimuth angle value, the same 1-mile offset along that 45°-Azimuth line is shorter than the vertical scale but longer than the horizontal one. The difference becomes more obvious at higher lattitudes.

    I watch this video (see at 05:30), the guy there uses the same (longtitude) scale for all the Azimuth lines. Is that correct? I think it is not.

    Could you please comment?
