Re: "Point determinatif" translation in english

The "Computed  Point" is at the intersection of  a perpendicular from a DR po- sition (the azimuth)  to a line of position resulting from a celestial observation is the rather stiltred definition given in HO 220. Basically it is the intersection of  the azimuth line; as drawn from the DR positon, with the line of position. It can be calculated, or computed, using the azimuth as a course and the intercept as a distance from the DR position employed in working up.a sight. By definition, it does not apply to an assumed position.

    Hope this helps

    Hello,

In french, the term "Point déterminatif" designates the point on the azimuth line where the LOP is traced perpendicularly to the azimuth. This is one end of the Intercept segment, the other one being our assumed position. What is the name of this point in english ?

    Thank you.
