    A couple years ago, while on vacations in Oslo,Norway, I had the opportunity to visit the Polar Museum, dedicated to the 1911 South Pole Expedition led Roald Amundsen.

    The museum holds the Fram vessel indoors as well as many of the antartic equipment of the expedition including the sextants, theodolites and tables used for celestial navigation.

    A very interesting place to visit.

    Please see below some pictures of the celestial navigation equipment used during the expedition that reached the south pole for the first time ever.
