Hello Andrez
I'm only a leisure mariner theses days, and only a very retired salt water sprayed electronic engineer at that, but:
1. You write of parallel indexes as position lines. They are not, they are intended tracks.
2. The practice of verifying fixes only at at salient coastal points along the parallel index seems very unseamanlike. Surely the position verification should best be done before arriving off any salient points, as these points have previously been classified as positions of greater risk along the intended track!
As folk might say shoreside, there seems to be a problem of not being able to see the wood for the trees.
