Re: Possible GPS Date Rollover problems week of April 6, 2019
    From: Brad Morris

If not mistaken, rollover occured at UTC 00:00 7Apr19.  For me, that is 6Apr19 7PM

I own two Garmin receivers.  Both are functional, but old

GPSmap76 #1.  Last fix recorded 26Dec08.  Took 2m34s to get a proper fix.  Reports time as 21Aug99, 8:12PM.  S/W version 3.60.  This unit has a broken MOB button and therefore remains in retirement.  Its interesting that it failed the rollover.

GPSmap76 #2.  Last fix recorded 24Mar19.  Took 3m49s to get a proper fix.  Reports time as 06Apr19, 8:15PM.  S/W version 4.00.  I use this one, so it is comforting that the unit passes rollover.

Correct date 6Apr19 8:17 as I write this.

    Brad

For what it is worth, here is Garmin's take on this potential problem:

"For GPS devices that are affected, after the rollover occurs, an incorrect date and time will be displayed. This incorrect time will also be used to timestamp track logs, compute sunrise and sunset, and other functions that rely upon the correct date and time. However, the positioning accuracy will not be affected. The device will continue to deliver the same positioning performance as before the rollover."
