Sam, ten days ago you wrote:

I sell on amazon. And over a million other companies, of all sizes, do so with great success. Amazon absolutely does not "claim ownership" or anything similar to what you wrote. But thinking about your "ring", it's got me wondering how you came up with this misunderstanding about amazon. It occurred to me that you may have been the victim of an "invention mill" --one of those companies that promises to market homebrew inventions. If they or someone else told you this about amazon, they were probably trying to defraud you. The game would be to pretend that amazon, that "big corporation", is stealing from you when in reality the invention mill is stealing from you. If, on the other hand, you came to this conclusion about amazon on your own, then, I'm sorry to say, you've misread something or in some other way confused yourself. Bottom line: you're wrong. Amazon does not "claim ownership and the right to reproduce, make and sell the very item you make." That's just nonsense. Your assertions about youtube are also false. These companies are not your "friends", of course, but they are also not your enemies. Finally, regarding homemade inventions, you can't sell on amazon without a standard product "sku" code (or an "isbn" in the case of a book or similar). They don't sell homemade items unless you have gone through that minimum process for professional marketing. You simply cannot go on amazon and add a new product without a sku or an isbn. That's the big hurdle for your little product.
