Sean,
I have one that was given to me as a gift. I wouldn't recommend it. First, it is unlighted, so it is only good during daylight and twilight, and marginal at twilight. Second, maybe it is just me, but I find it very difficult to use. I find it almost impossible for me to get the body and the bubble on the line at the same time. But, like I said, that may just be a personal problem.

I'm close to being able to buy my first metal sextant. I will most likely get the Astra IIIb. I was just wondering if anyone has used the "practice bubble horizon" sold by Celestaire and others. If so, what did you think of it? Is it worth purchasing? Thanks in advance for any advice.
