Attached is a plot for today's underway Sun observation using a precalculated LHA(t) with a high altitude (73° fixed reflection) Bris sextant. The LOP was within 3 nautical miles of GPS and overlapped with the standard sight reduction using the GPS position as the assumed position. I don't think I'll be making a habit of doing this but it is a sight reduction option for those who would rather do all the math at the dock so that only a GHA nautical almanac look up to sum with the precalculated LHA needs doing for longitude.
