Thanks for advice. Your replies raise a couple of questions. I indicated my little book uses AP3270 yet no mention of AP3270 in the replies. Do I understand one of the HO??? is identical?.  I note you refer to "current edition" of the Nautical Almanac I do not have any complete volumes of any publication. I only have a few sample pages printed in the little book which I am now wondering might not be providing the appropriate instruction for the "Current Almanac". The book is not to hand but I am sure was printed about 30 years ago. Things might have changed? If this is the case there is no point in me asking questions as it is inevitable we will be talking different languages. Mike
