Frank, by definition April Fools' Day is in . . . . . April, not Sept.
Prepare for Ice...
From: Frank Reed
Date: 2018 Sep 21, 19:00 -0700The Sun, as I write, this stands at the zenith about 24 nautical miles north of the equator, and it is running south at a rate of just about one knot. Every hour it is one nautical mile closer to the equator... By tomorrow at almost exactly this moment, it will be standing above the equator itself, and after that it will be heading into the southern hemisphere!
Without the Sun, the temperature here in the northern hemisphere will surely plummet, and I fear that we have ice and snow in our future. Not wishing to be endowed with the mantle of prochecy, I must nonetheless predict that the lakes and ponds of New England and other places in our latitude around the world shall be covered in ice, at least occasionally, beginning in as little as three months...
And a warning: if the Sun continues its southward march at a rate of one knot, then soon it will reach a coordinate singularity at the very bottom of the globe itself --the South Pole! Unless some miracle intervenes and the Sun's southward momentum can be stopped, the Sun will stand over the South Pole ninety days after tomorrow, and there it will be trapped by the immutable laws of mathematics. It cannot go further south and will be trapped there for all time. Darkness will permanently envelop the northern hemisphere... If we cannot stop the Sun we will end in a bitter frozen world of perpetual night... The end is nigh... Prepare for a World of Ice!
