Guus,

I think you are asking how to use stars not used in the selected stars of Vol 1 of 249. The answer is to use stars between dec 30 N and S. The other stars are not available to you if using Pub 249. It is not unusual take some stars on a whim, and later find that they are not reducible using just 249.
