Heh... it was actually more a case of "lucky circumstances".
I was working on another project and set an alarm on the watch with about 10
minutes to go in the auction. As luck would have it, I couldn't break away
from what I was doing (replacing parts inside a laptop) until about 3
minutes to go. My first bid came back immediately as "outbid" (I'm guessing
one of the other people had auto-bid turned on), so I waited until about 30
seconds left, re-bid and managed to snag it that way.

I've heard about it, but no personal experience yet. I've finally taken the
plunge into buying on E-Bay after just lurking for a couple of years - so
far I'm 2 for 2, so I'm feeling a little frisky lately... ;-)
Is esnipe kosher by E-Bay? I know they'll yank your listing (and your
membership) if they catch you shill-bidding, but I guess using an outside
service isn't that much different that their own auto-bid system.
