Hello Paul,
Nice reading from you !
I wish to further comment on the subject of Protractors which indeed you just covered in your reply to
Gary (Hello 2 u 2 Gary!).
There are many different such tools, and 3 years back I described the one currently in use in the French Navy for the past 50 years or so, which I also keep using.

Surprisingly enough to the NavList Nugget I then was - and maybe still am - there has been no reply at all, and no comment at all to this specific post, as far as I can recall.
I would simply state that Admiral Cras Plotter is an excellent if not an outstanding tool for coastal navigation as well as for accurately drawing Intercepts too (with my all time favorite scale of "1 centimeter equals one NM"). Such Plotters come in quite different sizes, from approximately 15 centimeters up to (over) 50 centimeters for use on big navigation Maps and Charts. Again I still consider Admiral Cras Plotter as being one the best if not the best one to-day. But I know that my
own judgement is skewed here, simply because I got all at sea training in the French Navy, as well as Aircraft Carrier Pilot training in the French Naval Aviation (which is a different story).
Well, I would be definitely happy to hear about comments on the Admiral Cras Plotter from third (NavList) parties.
Maybe this time, some feedback then ... from somebody from NavList who might have had a chance of using it (Andrés, Peter or maybe Frank, or any other ???)...
Bets Regards to all
Kermit
