I was reducing a sun sight I took this August using the almanac and Pub 229, and the intercept was 30 miles off.  The sight was taken on a tripod using a RAF MKIXA bubble sextant, and the computer program AstroNav gave me an intercept of 0.0075'.  Actual LHA was 2 ° 3.7', so of course I used the 2° page and calculated the altitude was 58° 10.1' vs. the Ho of 57° 40'.  I had hoped for greater accuracy because the actual LHA was quite close to an integer - is this just the nature of the tables?  It seems I have done other reductions that came closer.
