But Frank, it’s a nostalgia thing.  We can’t bottle that unique mixture of AVTUR, rubber, ozone, sweat and a couple of other odours, but we can rescue the tables from eBay, often with recognisable aircraft registration numbers still marked on the front, and tell-tale, well-thumbed pages inside, reminders of days and flights never to be repeated that seem like they took place only yesterday.
