    I could never forget Polaris.  Celestial Tools allows a standard sight reduction with Polaris and a latitude by altitude of Polaris, but it is not one of the 41 Pub. 249 Volume 1 stars.

    Stan,
    Don't forget Polaris. Cheating below 20° is ok I think. Lower altitude bodies are easier to rock to the natural horizon.  Ideally it would be best if altitudes were about the same. Then there is ships heading to think about with a beam, bow, and stern bodies preferred.
