I contacted Ken Gebhart, Jr. last week. He confirms that the new Epoch 2025 edition of Pub.249 Vol.1 "Selected Stars" is available from Celestaire. After his father, Ken Gebhart, passed away last year, ownership passed to Ken Gebhart, Jr. and his siblings, and Ken informs me that he is "President/CEO". I know that some of you would want to know that information, too.
You can buy the high-quality printed edition here:
https://www.celestaire.com/product/ho-249-air-navigation-volume-1-selected-stars-epoch-2025/
There is also a lower-resolution download edition available:
https://www.celestaire.com/publications/#3663-3665-wpfd-ho-249
Note that this year, unlike for earlier epochs, the download edition has some small sections deleted to protect copyright on the volume. The deleted sections amount to 30° of LHA Aries on eight pages totalling less than 0.25% of the total data. That is, the tables are more than 99.75% complete. Naturally the printed edition has no deletions. The introduction has also been modernised with some new text and fresh examples.
I have worked as a consultant on this project for more than a decade, and I prepared the 2025 edition several years ago. The tables are created by processing data from the USNO web tools, which, fortunately, were still functional when I did my work collecting the data. I also compare every data point against my own computations in order to detect errors. Other than that consulting work, I have no financial stake or other connection to the business side of this.
