I found this on the web, do not know why they use the name Monkton Protractor. Interesting is to use it also as stationpointer. regards, HermanD
Herman, A quick ‘Google Images’ search for ‘Douglas Protractor’ will show that a number of companies have marketed their own version of the basic Douglas protractor modified to a greater or lesser extent.
Some don’t even have the courtesy to include ‘Douglas’ in the title. Yes, you could use one as a station pointer, but you wouldn’t cover much area with the five inch square version. You can use any transparent film as a makeshift station pointer. We just used tracing paper to score radar photographs. DaveP
