Last month I picked up a Wenger S.A.K. quartz watch on ebay. The movement worked but seemed a little sloppy as the second hand marched around the dial. A google search lined me up with a $5 movement replacement. An ETA 805.121 using no jewels. This is a very simple day and date movement that is hard to mess up with on a first time watch repair effort. All was going well until I couldn't figure out how to get the watch face off the movement. A fellow (Ricky) from the Poor Mans Watch Forum helped me out with a detailed description and pictures on how to take the face off. Everything went back together with only one hitch. The hour and minute hands made slight contact on the go around. A press and pull set everything right. A new battery is installed and now it will be awhile to check on the rate. I'm hoping for ± 1 second per week or better.
