An early Carl Plath sextant seems to have morphed into a Heath and Co or Henry Hughes and Son three circle sextant.
It must be very tempting to engrave a few initials on to a brass name plate and then hawk off the instrument as "possibly belonging to the reknowned Captain J Bodger". Indeed, I have a sextant in my possession (I haven't yet decided which one), given to me by my late Uncle John, who assured me that it had been given to him by Captain Bodger in 1932 in exchange for a debt.
