In the RYA publication "Yachtmaster Scheme - syllabus and logbook" (G158), for the YM Ocean Theory course, use of calculators for compass checking is explicitly allowed (but is silent on which type of calculator). The syllabus also states "awareness of use of a calculator for sight reduction" - see photos attached.
Regarding sight reduction tables, syllabus specifically states " reduction and plotting of sun sights using Air Navigation tables". No specific set of tables is listed.
The slightly older publication "Yachtmaster (Ocean) Exercised and tables for the RYA/MCA Shorebased course (RYA pub 1996) includes extracts from Nautical Almanac, and AP3270.
