    I think the real problem is that the number of people who listen to the radio over the Internet is now  greater than people who listen to a 'radio', which pick up actual radio waves. Given the time lag of the signal through the Internet, the accuracy of the time pips is degraded to the point where it is not actualy that useful any more.

    There are ways of getting accurate time via the Internet, but time pips at the top of the hour is not one of them.
