I have 2 copies. I have not yet tried his sunrise/sunset method for determining Lat/Lon but once I'd read about it, it made sense.
Most of the book is a lot of natural lore, which I believe is accurate and useful for the most part. But you need to able to recall the info if you actually wind up in a liferaft because who's going to put a book like this in the ditch kit?
The dual use chart is a good idea, it just needs to be copied and reprinted on Rite-in-the-Rain paper along with the ruler. Same with the Sunrise/sunset chart.
