Mark Burkes asked for some data from my Indian country trek of last year. Mike, here are a few session's data. Triangulated positions used for reductions not gps pos. Gps pos was recorded just as a check. You tell me what the position(s) is you get by whatever method you use to reduce them. We'll then compare final psitions. I used a palm OS based sight reduction program. There are limitations to it. One is that seperate temps can't be inputted for each sight in a round. The data you see is the data I recorded. That data was inputted into the position finding software with no upfront corrections. No reduction forms or almanac used. I took the average temp for each session. No averaging sights. I took 1 cut each body. If I screwed up I waited and did it again. Times written are local. Beware the time zones on these before you reduce! ! ! ! 11-02-04 1053 zt triangulated position = 32* 50.3 ' N 114* 44.6' W about 1/10th mile off from gps pos.
