I did something I have never done before, I took an observation of the moon during an eclipse. At 073140 Z I took a lower limb shot with my MA-2 bubble sextant and measured 44° 29'. According to the Naval Observatory, the Hc was 45° 22.0' for my AP of 34° 16.6' N 118° 54.0' W and the total corrections was +55.1' making Ho 45° 24.1' making the intercept 2.1 T. I also shot Mars and got an intercept of 1.4 A.
Not bad with a bubble sextant.

A thin haze here makes the viewing a little less than distinct, but still an eyeful. Spica really is a nice touch. Thanks, Deity of Choice. Best view thru binocs. Telescope too 'squinty' (I have no idea what that means- just seemed to be appropriate).
And the train horns blare, and the street lights glare, and I stare. ....
