This might be a good time to try some "photographic lunars", that is, photos showing both the Moon and some surrounding stars in a single image. A full 2D fix can then be obtained from the Moon alone---no horizon needed. An eclipse has the Moon conveniently much less bright, so problems of dynamic range are much reduced.
Of course this is nothing new---conventional lunar distances can do the same thing---but imaging holds out the promise of higher accuracy and full automation.
