I might be "easily amused" but the results you noted with an Empire Level are impressive.
As to your efforts at making precision bubble levels and or fabricating bases for purchased items, sounds like you enjoyed the effort.
I will try again, when I'm feeling better, using my home made mirror AH, along with theatrical lighting gell sun shields. Greg R. mentioned setting up in parallel, a Davis AH along with a mirror AH. Hs's obtained should be quite close, a good error check.
