Sam,
The Nautical Almanac is only good for one year on Moon and planet data. If absolute precision isn't needed then a Nautical Almanac exactly four years out of date can be used for Sun GHA and declination. Polaris, sunrise, sunset, twilight, and MP data is also useable. Star GHA of Aries needs 1.8' added. SHA and declination of stars will need to be printed from USNO web sight every few months and kept with the out of date NA. Check Ebay for old NAs.
If you have open ocean voyage plans then I suggest getting the correct year of Nautical Almanac.

Greg,
I'm not sure if I replied to this but thanks for the help in 2 ways;
1- For the figures of Ruchbah
2- Convincing me to get a copy of the NA. The short portion that was available through the link contained a huge amount of information.
Is star, Sun and Moon figures in The Nautical Almanac good for only 1 year?
