But, what if he wasn't transliterating? If I type the original Cyrillic letters in Arial Unicode MS Cyrillic, they appear as "СНО-Т" & "СНО-М". These are, after all, the proper designations of the sextants. Whether or not the reader understands they're in Cyrillic is not (IMHO) the responsibility of the writer, although Bruce took it upon himself to provide the transliteration in addition, anyway. At any rate, it seems Mr. Wolf is already aware of the difference (based on his thread title).
