I recently purchased an 1987 SNO-T sextant from India. It is in good condition, however I had the bad surprise to discover that several important screws and the mirror calibration tool were missing while I was told by the seller that the sextant was in perfect usable condition... Anyway, this issue should be solved soon thanks to the very kind assistance of Bill Morris (note: his book about the repair and maintenance of SNO-T is an absolute "must have" for any owner of these truely remarkable sextants. His other book "The Nautical Sextant" is also a "must have" in my opinion).

Besides of the missing bits and pieces, I also discovered that my sextant's inventory list in the lid of the case, unlike all SNO-T I did see until then, was not written in Russian but in perfect English ! See picture attached. It seems perfectly genuine and "ex-factory", and leads me to believe that, at a certain stage in USSR's history, some SNO-T's were made for export. Does anyone knows more about this ? I would love to learn more about the history of this sextant.
