Tony, I disassembled and inspected my SNO-T Galileo telescope: there is no place for the third lens. It completely corresponds to the drawing from the manual (attached in Paul Werner's message on this topic). When you unscrew the objective glass you indeed see some thread inside, but this thread is a part of the focus adjustment. Speaking of SNO-T telescopes, my experience shows that the inverting one is the best sextant telescope of all those I've ever seen. The quality of the picture and the field of view is almost the same as of a prizmatic 8x while the weight is a small fraction of that of a prizmatic 8x. The only supposed advantage of the Galileo telescope is it large apperture which is supposed to collect more light in a twilight observation, it gives you a better view of the horizon. This is why the Kepler 7x is called the "day scope", and the Galileo one the "night scope" in the manual. Complete Russian manual is available on the web, and I suppose there is a copy in the NavList archive. If not, I can scan my own original manual. Alex.
