The conference is listed as June 5-9, 02016. The five-digit year, as I see it, is a hint of the influence of the Long Now Foundation which has been advocating five-digit years as a way of emphasizing long-term, multi-millennium thinking for nearly 0.02 millennia. If you visit their web site, longnow.org, you'll see that they list their founding date as 01996.
Pfft. That only gives us about 98,000 years until we have to add yet another digit. Now, if we just add one more digit to the Julian day number and use it instead, we'll be good for roughly 267,000 years. Now that's foward thinking. ;)
