    Re: Sea level rise (off-topic)

Many coasts are very gently sloped, as sea level rises water covers up
more land. In Florida a one foot rise in sea level will move the
shoreline inland by something like 100 feet. Every foot of sea level
rise increases the surface of the ocean by thousands of squre miles.

Imagine leaving the faucet on in your bathtub ( I don't have to
imagine that one, I've done it). The volume increase will be pretty
linear until the tub is full. But once you start filling up your
bathrom (and your basement) I think you loose the colinearity.

Does that make sense or am I missing something?
