It is a more complex system. Subtly complex but horribly complex, Alex. There have even been a few PBS specials recently (US educational/non-profit TV for our friends overseas) featuring the work of some folks who have coined the term "global dimming". Apparently the soot emitted from diesel engines and other sources has blocked enough sunlight from falling to earth that the difference may literally have stopped something like 30-40% of the global warming that CO2 emissions alone "should" have provided. (I'll take a correction on those numbers if anyone has them for sure!) The folks in both camps (those arguing that there is/isn't global warming and that it is/isn't something horrid) are equally wrong. We don't know what is happening or why it is happening, we the human race are as the three blind men in the old parable describing an elephant. Each says something totally different--because none has the complete picture. So each is totally right yet totally wrong. Meantime....a global climate change could kill us all, a more prudent race would at least ante up the bucks to do some real science and try to see the entire elephant. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ To post to this group, send email to NavList@fer3.com To , send email to NavList-@fer3.com -~----------~----~----~----~------~----~------~--~---
