Re: Searching For Shackleton's Vessel Endurance - in the Log Books

    Hi Robin

I too sat up and followed the talk on the occultation method of checking chronometers – just not something we could do whilst travelling in an aircraft at 6 nms per minute.

A very interesting discussion though I haven’t quite finished watching the YouTube to the end.

I am just a little annoyed with my self in that I have come to my interest in Shackleton late in my life – but to know that whilst at Christchurch University then later Wigram Air Force base Christchurch and Worsley’s log books and notebooks were there for the reading breaks my heart! – a missed opportunity.

I have visited Akaroa – a little bit of France on the side of Banks Peninsula – a beautiful little village.

    Regards
