Hi Gary.
The "imgviewer" tool is a visual tool that's intended for scanning, browsing through the attachments by thumbnail. However, all attachments are also parts of messages. So you can search for them in the usual way (and with all the usual caveats unfortunately). We don't have a keywords search function right now, but I think that would help a great deal. For example, imagine if every message that mentioned Amelia Earhart was tagged with keyword "Earhart". Or imagine if every post discussing aerial navigation was tagged with the phrase "air navigation". I have considered implementing something like this, but it's not easy, and it would require a considerable amount of "tagging" work by NavList readers. There are nearly 48,000 individual messages in the complete NavList archive. I'm attaching a bar chart of message traffic history for our collective contemplation...
I do have other offline search capabilities that I can apply. If you're looking for something specific, please email me and I'll see what I can do.
