I found this 2003 post well worth reading. A couple of years ago, as a bar one point characteristic person, I could just, with the help of NavList, work out what Norie at al were up to with their nine point characteristic when I first came across it, but I wasn’t clear why they used it. George Huxtable explains this very well in his post. Incidentally, I found the fastest way to find the post was to search for w10330. DaveP
