Thank you Antoine,
When I saw the 'certificate' I thougt it a bit unusual to run up toward the end so much as it does. .. It is what it is. Admitedly I purchased it for less than even 'decorator' value so I had little expectation of or need for a problem free instrument. Long term it will have a home next to my other sextants.
With the 4x scope and large mirrors it certainly is a nice instrument to use, so this is what has me thinking it would be nice to re-learn some celestial navigation. I may have to keep it on the boat this summer and do some work to re-learn the math (which I was never good at).
I suppose for starters I could take sequential sights with a number of my sextants and if they all yield the same reading that might be a starting point and may start to rule out major issues with this one.
Thank you,
Ned
