Can't see any insult there, Frank, it seems fairly factual and accurate. Note you haven't addressed other pertinent points George raised, such as: was it 'your' list to summarily kill off over a fit of pique, it seems, or was it 'ours' that you were kindly managing in an entirely non-obtrusive fashion? Kill off? I suspect so. Its all a bit sad, as 'your' list was bubbling along nicely and had every potential to evolve its own identity and personality, to become an asset for us all. What about the posters who preferred your list and were actively using it? Why did this have to happen so suddenly, what could have been the harm of taking a 'wait and see' approach? This experiment all seems to have been a lot of noise, bombast, and promise followed by a damp fizzle. What a pity. > As for taking away your "ball", there is nothing that you CANNOT do now > that > you COULD do previously. So where is this figurative "ball" that I have > supposedly taken away?? Well, at the risk of pointing out the bleeding obvious; George can't post to NavList. Can't initiate or respond to discussions there. D'uh. > Relax, George. You haven't lost anything. Again the obvious: we have all lost. > I will reiterate: I have no interest in creating a schism in this > discussion group. And again, why weren't the real 'owners' consulted? > If those differences eventually become strong enough > reasons to move the group to NavList on googlegroups, then we are all set > to go! After this I would imagine you'll have a hard time getting this community to take you seriously again. > I would even be happy to see you, > George, as an owner of that list when we actually MOVE to that service George doesn't want to be a manager (a better word). Like almost all others, he wants to be a poster. Nuance. The manager is a bit like a puppeteer: least seen the better. What has happened to your other co-owner? Not, it would seem, a post to be relished. > costs a quarter to play (!!). Double exclamation marks just don't cut it.
