Jack Aubrey would have known the best way to do it. I bet he could even do it towing a prize. Now MrsP and I invariably end up on almost a beam reach despite each season my moving the tell-tales a further six inches down the shrouds. P.S. You can’t beat the laws of thermodynamics. That diving across the dinghy, that little oomph of the main to get moving again, that sly wiggle of the rudder when no ones looking. Don’t ask from where the extra energy comes; it comes from you.
