I'm sure there's a USN equivalent to Air Navigation, but I'm not sure it'll help you. I've just checked Peter Ifland's 'Taking the Stars' which includes a brilliantly written 40-page chapter on aircraft sextants. It includes pictures and drawings of almost every significant aircraft sextant ever produced. (If you can find a copy on your national Abe Books buy it.) The AQU-1/A is so significantly different that if it had ever been produced in quantity, it would have been featured. It isn't. I also emailed my contact at The National Air and Space Museum who have their own AQU-1/A for assistance. Unfortunately, I immediately received a standard reply stating he was 'on Furlow' and out of email access. DaveP
