Reed’s (no relation, I assume!) Astro Navigation Tables is a long established and compact UK publication containing an annual almanac, with trig and other tables for sight reduction. For some time the publishers have featured a shiny brass ‘repro’ sextant on the cover.
I wrote to them, pointing out this might downgrade the serious intent of their publication. Now we have the real thing, but with the telescope mounted the wrong way round!
