Be careful of black urethane open cell foam that tends to age and turn into a fine powder that plays havoc with optics and mirrors. Takes a few years though.
That is the stuff that was in the case when I got it. I can confirm how awful it is.
Thanks everyone for the suggestions. I managed to get some suitable looking foam off my local freecycle mailing list. Going to to try and get the new liner made soon.
