Challenge two: the sextant looks like this Plath, but with a sight tube instead of a scope? In any case I do worry about her eyesight afterwards, given the position of the index shades.

Challenge three: Her clothing seems inconsistent with the latitudes we're seeing on the page (83° - 90°). More generally, Volume 6 of HO229, covering latitudes 70° - 90°, would probably be impractical for a Pacific crossing, where Bering Strait is about 65° N. The LHA looks vaguely plausible, though.

Not sure what longitude that is on the paper. 121°W would be consistent with a Pacific crossing but I find it difficult to find a Southampton and a Boston (?) around there. If that 1 is not a 1 but just a vertical line, then 21°W is consistent with _that_ Southampton and Boston, but it can hardly be called a Pacific crossing. I'd also expect it to be colder there. And as Volume 6 starts to be useful (far) to the north of Iceland, I wouldn't take that to cross the Atlantic, either.
